Creativity is God’s fingerprint in us.
We see, think, imagine, breathe and experience life and the Arts through His eyes.
From that place of intimacy with Him and identity in Christ, we fellowship, cultivate our hearts, and celebrate each other so our creative expression reflects Him and becomes accessible, nourishing and inspiring to everyone.

Artist Bio:
Amy Elizabeth Cruz is a professional artist and teacher with a passion for nature, light and space. Her play with those components, composition, design and texture is evident in her paintings, drawings and installation art. With a firm belief that viewing or making art is important and should be accessible to everyone, many of her pieces are created live or in collaboration with art students, or printed on products that people can touch and carry around with them. She also leads Awake Artisans, a group of artists at Awake Church who hold creative gatherings, live artists during church services, and a gallery. Amy holds a bachelor's degree in Art Education from UNC Greensboro and has taught specialized visual art courses at various venues in Winston-Salem, NC including RJ Reynolds High School and Sawtooth Center. She is now a Stay-at-Home mom to three beautiful children and pursues her love of teaching through homeschooling and teaching art classes in homes, churches, and outdoor areas.
Artist Statement:
My art reveals a part of my story walking with God. These pieces are a source of hope, joy, understanding and encouragement to me, and I hope for viewers as well. Creating helps me get to know Him. It helps me better understand God, His Word and His nature--both His creation and His ways. From my tiny ink drawings, to paintings, to large fiber art installations, I like designs that are simple and straight forward, creative, fun, unexpected, and thought provoking. I love to create art that brings people beauty in nature and design that gives hope to their story, as it does mine. Through my work, I want to witness the change that happens as people discover their own creativity, encounter a new creative experience or receive a deep encouragement when gazing upon a work of art. -Amy Beth Cruz
